Junior Open National Championships to be held in Queensland in 2023

Junior Bocce

The Bocce Australia board endorsed a proposal by the Redland Sporting club that the next Bocce Australia Junior Open National Championships will be held at the Redlands Sporting Club in Queensland in 2023.

The event will be run, where possible, in a similar format to the FIB Junior world championship and Denis Ravera International with the barrage format, and is expected to take place in mid-March or early April.

The categories will be U15, U18 and U23

The events will be Singles, Doubles, BowlThrow, Precision throw and Progressive throw.

Where there are not sufficient players in an event, some categories may be combined.

In addition, on the Saturday evening a planning workshop will be held with all interested parties – players, coaches, officials, and parents.

Bocce Australia will also arrange for a Sport Australia representative to attend to provide guidance and ideas on how to establish a national junior recruiting program.

Further details will be issued as we get closer to the event date.

In the meantime, any interested young players should contact their local state bocce federation to seek details about their junior training program.
