June birthdays

Recently, two of our wonderful members celebrated their birthdays. Frank Latte celebrated his 81st birthday and Miranda Sella-Gianot celebrated a young 95th birthday!

Frank is not only a long-standing bocce player but also maintains the Sicilia Club bocce courts. Miranda was co-founder of the Women’s Bocce Federation. Best wishes to both of you!

Thank you to Giuseppina Latte for providing a cake for morning tea.

Join us for bocce at the Sicilia Club every Monday from 7pm to 9pm and Friday mornings from 9am to 11am.

Victoria update

UCAN2 Heads to Kyabram with support from state government and local council

Bocce Victoria is thrilled to announce that its flagship program, UCAN2 – Uniting Communities and Networks Together, is expanding to regional Victoria, with Kyabram next on the map.

Thanks to strong support from the State Government of Victoria, Bocce Victoria has received significant funding to take the program on the road. Following its success in Melbourne, UCAN2 will now reach new communities, offering a low-impact, inclusive and social sport that welcomes participants of all ages and abilities.

The grant success was made possible with the valued backing of the local Council and the Local Member of Parliament, who supported the application and recognised the positive impact the program will bring to the Kyabram region.

Over the coming months, Bocce Victoria will work closely with the Kyabram Bocce Club to deliver the program both at the club and in partnership with local schools, offering opportunities for fun, friendship and pathways to competition.

The UCAN2 program not only builds sporting skills but helps participants develop confidence, social networks, and physical activity in a safe, welcoming environment.

Bocce Victoria looks forward to partnering with the Kyabram community and delivering a program that’s fun, meaningful and built to last.
