Queensland update

Bringing bocce to special needs schools

The Queensland Bocce Federation (QBF) supported the Department of Education Queensland Representative School Sport event at the South Pines Sports complex by offering 50 students from five local special needs schools the opportunity to showcase and enjoy the game of bocce. This was done in conjunction with other sports such as netball, cricket, tennis, AFL, and touch NRL.

QBF President Dino Marrone and committee members Lewis Sciortino, Mario DeMarco and Joe Reitano set up a rope court on carpet tiles and watched the faces of the players light up when rolling the Raffa boules.

South Australia update

Franca wins competition

For a change in routine, a competition was held for our Monday night bocce players. The winner, Franca Romano, competed solo in two of the four games. Well done Franca!

Runners up were Anna and Achille Piccirillo, and Dora Taddeo.

Ida and Antonio Cirocco, our two newest members, were also presented with a bottle of wine for coming along and participating. Congratulations to all!

You too can join us at the Sicilia Club every Monday night from 7pm to 9pm, and on Friday mornings from 9am to 11am.
